What people say about Darci
A valued friend, mother, co-worker, neighbor, relative. A person you want in your inner circle. This is Darci Shin. Darci and I have been friends for 35 years. This lady has been an asset to me since we became co-workers at a social service agency.
Darci is a very knowledgeable woman, and she will always make time to listen and help anyone who wants her assistance. She thrives in implementing her knowledge to find a solution for anyone struggling with a problematic situation. Darci is a solid citizen who will stand up for truth and fairness. Our world today needs more leaders like Darci. Her dignity and integrity are two outstanding qualities she lives by.
Olivia Flores
Friend of 35 years and former colleague
I have known Darci for over thirty years, first as a co-worker in Ironwood High School's Child-Oriented Occupational Program. I was the Director, and she was a teacher and Coordinator in our on-campus preschool. Now she has become a lifelong friend.
Darci's job was to provide a safe environment that encouraged learning and social development in our four-year-old children. With our high school students, she was responsible for grading, monitoring, and modeling teaching and discipline skills. Communicating with parents, children, students, co-workers, and school staff was of critical importance. Proactive problem solving and behavior modification were two of her most appreciated talents.
I will always be thankful for her skills, wisdom, and support.

I have had the absolute honor of knowing Darci Shin both professionally and personally for over 13 years, and I can honestly say that she is one of the most amazing souls I have ever had the privilege of knowing.
Darci is the kind of person who genuinely cares about others. She is always willing to help, always ready to lend a hand, and somehow manages to make the people around her feel seen, supported, and encouraged. Throughout the years, she has consistently cheered me on, celebrated my successes, encouraged me through difficult moments, and reminded me of my worth when I needed it most.
What makes Darci truly special is that her kindness isn’t something she simply shows when people are watching. It is who she is. She gives from the heart, supports others without expecting anything in return, and has a way of bringing positivity and light wherever she goes.
Professionally, Darci is incredibly knowledgeable, dependable, compassionate, and dedicated. Personally, she is someone I am incredibly grateful to call a friend. Thirteen years is a long time to know someone, and I can say with complete confidence that she has remained genuine, caring, and true to herself throughout all of those years.
If you have the opportunity to work with Darci, know her, or simply have her in your corner, consider yourself blessed. She is truly one of those rare people who leaves a positive impact on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Darci and I have known each other for over 25 years, first as coworkers for the Peoria Unified School District and then as friends. Over the course of that time, we have had many, many discussions about life. Through those discussions she has often helped me to pause and listen to what I truly wanted for myself and my life. In doing so she has helped me to uncover my true internal direction.
She is one of the brightest and most compassionate people I have ever had the privilege to work with as well as call my friend. As a preschool teacher, she built a foundation of trust and kindness that students carried with them even after they left her classroom. As a friend she has often provided guidance, listening without judgement whether we are talking on the phone a thousand miles apart or sitting together eating dinner.
Her coaching style is honest, compassionate and action oriented. Along with her knowledge and educational background she also has a natural capacity for helping people grow and see their own potential. Because of this I truly believe that coaching is what Darci was born to do!

Darci and her children have been part of our extended Ohana for over 30 years, and the love and connection we share with them are truly special.
When our mother became ill in Hawaii, Darci was an extraordinary source of comfort and support for our family. After my siblings and I had to return to the mainland, where we reside, Darci continued showing up for our mother in ways we will never forget. She visited her during her first hospitalization, spent time with her at the nursing facility where she was later placed, and was there again when our mother was hospitalized for the final time before her passing in 2023. Knowing that someone who genuinely loved and cared for our mother was there when we physically couldn't be brought us tremendous peace and comfort.
Throughout our grief and in the years since, Darci has continued to reach out with kindness, encouragement, compassion, and wisdom. She has always been someone we can turn to without hesitation, a trusted confidante who listens without judgment and provides a safe space to share our thoughts, feelings, and life's challenges.
I affectionately call her Auntie because that is exactly what she is to me, family in every sense of the word. Her warmth, generosity of spirit, and genuine care for others are remarkable. We are incredibly grateful for her presence in our lives and for the love and support she has so freely given our family throughout the years.
Darci is truly one of a kind, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Common questions
Is coaching the same as therapy?
No. Coaching is a supportive, forward-looking partnership focused on awareness, goals, and growth. It is not therapy or medical or mental health treatment. If you are in crisis or need clinical care, please see a licensed professional, and read our disclaimer for details.
What actually happens in a session?
We talk. I listen closely, ask questions that raise your awareness, and share tools and strategies tailored to where you are. You leave with a clearer sense of what you want and a gentle next step you can actually take.
What if I do not know what I want yet?
That is the most common place to start, and it is completely okay. Most people I talk to cannot answer that question at first. Discovering it, at your own pace, is exactly the work we do together.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no set number. Some people come for a single clarity session, others walk a longer journey over time. We start with a free conversation and find the rhythm that fits your life.
Do we meet in person or online?
Both. I am based in Honolulu and offer in-person sessions, as well as sessions by video, whatever feels most comfortable for you.
How much does it cost?
We talk about rates and packages on your free discovery call, once we understand what kind of support fits you best. There is no pressure and no obligation.
