Ride the Tide Instead of Fighting It

Stand at the shoreline long enough and you will watch the ocean rise and fall. High tide, low tide, every single day, on a rhythm older than any of us. Nobody panics at low tide. We know the water comes back.

Our lives move the same way. There are high seasons, full of energy and momentum, and low seasons, quiet and tired and slow. We celebrate the highs and fight the lows, as if the low tide were a mistake instead of part of the rhythm.

I watch people exhaust themselves trying to force a high tide in the middle of a low one. They resist, they push, they make the whole stretch harder than it needs to be. It is so much easier to surrender to the tide and ride the wave than to swim against it.

Riding the tide does not mean doing nothing. It means matching your effort to the season you are actually in. Push when the water is high. Rest and restore when it is low. Both are productive. Both belong.

Be flexible enough to adjust as you go, and the same ocean that felt like it was working against you starts to carry you instead.
